General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC)

1. Seller identification

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to sales made on the website christophermatt.fr, edited by:

2. Purpose

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale define the rights and obligations of Christopher Matt and his customers in the context of the online sale of art prints and other physical creations offered on the website christophermatt.fr.

All orders imply acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which are made available to the customer before validation of their purchase.

3. Products

The products offered are art prints and illustrated creations made by Christopher Matt.

The essential characteristics of each product, including its format, medium and price, are indicated on its product description sheet.

The photographs and visuals presented on the site are as accurate as possible, but slight color variations may occur depending on the screen.

Products are offered subject to availability.

4. Sales Territory

The products are sold and delivered exclusively in mainland France.

5. Orders

Orders are placed directly on the website christophermatt.fr.

Before confirming their order, the customer can check the selected products, quantities, total price and delivery charges, and correct any errors.

The order becomes final after validation and acceptance of payment.

A confirmation email summarizing the order is then sent to the customer.

The customer agrees to provide accurate and complete contact details, particularly to enable delivery.

In the event of an exceptional unavailability of a product after ordering, the customer will be informed and will be able to obtain a refund of the sums paid.

6. Price and payment

Prices are shown in euros, net of VAT.

VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the General Tax Code, within the framework of the VAT exemption scheme applicable to the activity of artist-author of the seller.

Delivery charges are shown separately before final order confirmation.

The accepted payment methods are:

  • Bank card
  • PayPal

Payment is due in full at the time of order and is made through secure payment providers.

7. Shipping and Delivery

Orders are shipped within a maximum of 14 working days from the date of order confirmation, unless a different timeframe is expressly indicated on the product page.

Deliveries are made only within mainland France.

The delivery methods offered are tracked letter or registered mail, depending on the options available when ordering.

The estimated delivery time is communicated to the customer before the purchase is confirmed.

In the event of a delivery delay, the customer benefits from the rights provided by the Consumer Code, including the possibility of requesting delivery within a reasonable additional period and then, if the legal conditions are met, of terminating the contract.

The risks of loss or damage are transferred to the customer when they take physical possession of the product, except as otherwise provided by law.

8. Right of withdrawal

In accordance with the Consumer Code, the customer has a period of 14 calendar days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to justify their decision.

To exercise this right, the customer must notify their decision before the deadline expires, by email to coucou(at)christophermatt.fr, or by using the standard form at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

The customer then has 14 days to return the product.

The direct costs of return shipping are the responsibility of the customer.

The customer is responsible for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling other than what is necessary to ascertain its nature, characteristics and proper functioning.

Refund

In the event of a valid cancellation, the refund includes the price of the products and the initial delivery costs, up to the cost of the cheapest standard delivery method offered.

It is carried out within a maximum period of 14 days from the notification of withdrawal, by the same means of payment as that used for the order, unless otherwise agreed.

The refund may be deferred until the product is recovered or until proof of shipment is received, whichever occurs first.

Exception : The right of withdrawal may not apply to products made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalized, in accordance with the law. This exception does not automatically apply to commissioned art prints.

9. Legal Guarantees

The products sold are covered by the applicable legal guarantees, independently of any commercial guarantee.

Legal guarantee of conformity

The customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles L.217-3 et seq. of the Consumer Code.

In the event of a lack of conformity, the customer may request repair or replacement of the product, under the conditions stipulated by law. When these solutions are not possible or appropriate, a price reduction or termination of the contract may be obtained in the legally provided cases.

Warranty against hidden defects

The customer also benefits from the guarantee against hidden defects provided for in Articles 1641 et seq. of the Civil Code.

These guarantees apply at no cost to the customer under the conditions provided by law.

10. Intellectual Property

The illustrations, graphic designs and works reproduced on the products remain the intellectual property of Christopher Matt.

Purchasing an art print does not confer any right to reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit the work depicted.

Any use of these works outside of legal exceptions requires prior authorization.

11. Responsibility

Christopher Matt is committed to taking the necessary care in preparing and shipping orders.

Its liability cannot be excluded or limited in situations where the law imposes liability on the seller, particularly with regard to legal guarantees and delivery obligations.

12. Personal Data

The personal data provided during an order is used for its processing, payment, delivery and compliance with legal obligations.

Information regarding the collection, storage and exercise of customer rights can be found on the "Legal Notice and Privacy Policy" page of the website.

13. Complaints and mediation

For any questions or complaints regarding an order, the customer can contact Christopher Matt at the following address:

In the event of a dispute that remains unresolved after a written complaint, the customer may resort to a consumer mediator free of charge.

14. Applicable Law and Disputes

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, the parties are encouraged to seek an amicable solution.

Failing that, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with applicable legal rules.
